Why we’re building these
Curation over feed.
Most boards fail the same way. They optimise for volume, so you get thousands of listings, no sense of which are real, and an afternoon lost to filtering. We would rather show you six good things than six hundred unsorted ones. Every board here starts from the same rule: a person checks it before it goes up, and anything that does not clear that bar does not make the board.
The Shopify Stores Marketplace is the first because it is the one we can stand behind today. Instead of commissioning a store from zero, you start on a pre-built foundation, a tested theme and a Shopify partner we already work with, which is usually the difference between launching in weeks and launching in months. The job, internship, freelance, startup-hiring and talent boards follow the same logic in a different domain: verified roles from companies we know, internships with real projects and mentorship, gigs with teams that brief properly and pay on time, and a talent pool of engineers, designers and PMs ready to join something real.
We are building these in order rather than launching six empty shells at once, because an empty board helps nobody. - What does vetted actually mean here?
- It means a person looked at it before it reached the board. For stores and partners, that is proven foundations and Shopify partners we know rather than an open directory. For roles and internships, it is verified postings from companies we recognise, with the filler filtered out. For talent, it is engineers, designers and PMs we would be comfortable introducing. The whole point of the boards is fewer listings with more signal, not another feed to scroll.
